Zechs really hated hospitals, but he also didn't shy away from the things he detested. He also was feeling, perhaps irrationally, incredibly guilty. After all, hadn't he sworn to find and assist his friend? And then, in the end, he had managed to do exactly nothing.
He was wearing the cold facade of a soldier as he walked up to Hakuba's room. With calm authority, he ordered the policemen standing guard to ask Hakuba if he'd like Zechs Marquise to visit. Considering his commanding presence, they almost complied without question.
When they asked who he was, Zechs claimed he was a cousin. For whatever reason, this appeared to have worked. Yet then again, he had no idea the president of ShinRa tried a similar ruse earlier.
