Several things crossed Zechs' mind at once when he saw Hakuba. First of all was that irrational guilt. He wanted to know how badly injured the boy really was. He wanted to know what happened. On a tactical level, he wished to learn if the Organization would target the Detective again.
He tried to keep his face calm, but some of the tension could probably be seen if one looked very closely.
"I am glad to see you alive, Detec- ... Saguru," Zechs answered, bowing his head politely.
