[In the cell]

It had been 4 days, 17 hours, 37 minutes and 23 seconds since he had been invited to the Fire Nation. The distance between walls were less than 5.5 meters, and there were 157 bricks on the wall, 12 of them broken. Saguru Hakuba counted them. Not just because he was really bored, but because he liked to count things to keep his mind busy.

He had tried to practice some fencing too, it was not the same without a real opponent, or a real sword- but he could practice the steps, and it kept him from freezing.

They called that cells Coolers. It was an adequate name.

The coldness of the cell permeated the blond to the bone, while he wait, listening, hoping against hope that Akako wasn't going to try anything drastic. Hakuba knew that to survive, he had to adapt- to keep cool, learn to give and take pain as it comes. Sometimes he got scared, too. In fact, he was scared often, more for the other than himself, but he couldn''t show it - in a place like this, if you admit weakness, you're a dead man. It's as simple as that, as sure as a wounded fish is a meal for hungry sharks. Mercy doesn't exist. Second chances are about as rare.

So, here, in the coldness dark, he waited.

[On the palace]

Akako was not a happy witch. Between having her boyfriend kidnapped (no matter how many times the princess insisted it was an arrest, she'd never believe her) and being bested by the mousy girl (it had taken all night to heal the bruises!) she was in a horrid mood. All she wanted to do was rescue Hakuba, take him home with her, and go to sleep... preferably with him lying next to her, but eh. Minor details!

Akako approached the prison again, a bit more weary this time, and kept her eyes open for Ty Lee. She wouldn't be taken off guard and beaten up like that again.

The bruises really did hurt.

Hakuba looked around them; they were on Akako's house. He was reluctant to let her go. He might fall if he does that. She was safe, she was alive, and she came to save him even if she didn’t have to.

There was a huge lump in his throat, and he felt really sleepy. Hakuba didn’t’ realized how tired he was until now. He opened his mouth to say something, but he sneezed instead, and felt immediately dizzy.

Akako immediately led Hakuba over to the nearest couch and laid him down on it. She reached out and brushed his blond bangs out of his eyes and sighed. "I'll get you some tea, Saguru," she said soothingly, before she stood up and walked briskly into the kitchen.

How dare that spoiled princess do this to him!

She returned moments later with a steaming cup of tea. Blowing on it lightly so it wasn't too hot for the weary detective, she sat down on the couch and offered him the cup. "Drink," she commanded lightly, "It has magical properties. It will make you feel better."

Hakuba waited on the sofa, a bit surprised to see Akako's softer side, and thinking that the whole situation was a bit strange. She was the only woman, even person, he didn't mind giving him orders, but she was hurt too and he wanted to support her.

He took the tea from her delicate hands with a grateful smile, and drank it in smalls sips. Hakuba didn't drank or eat anything hot in the last week and he didn't want to get sick because of that. He felt much better after that, Akako was really good at potions.

"I'm so..happy to be with you again." He left the cup on the table and took Akako's hand on his, caressing them softly. "You're ok?"

Akako nodded. "I'm fine," she responded. "Getting you back from them was a lot more difficult than I imagined." Her expression suddenly grew hard. "And I suppose that mousy girl never really did learn her lesson."

Hakuba notice her change of expression and moved her hands up to kiss them.

"The important thing for me is that you come to find me." He looked at Akako's eyes, and she made it quite clear that she felt she had dealt with the whole situation badly. Losing against Ty lee was a hard punch to her ago and it was obvious. It was his fault too, he just make it worse. He was constantly pushing things to the edge with the princess, his behavior was becoming more and more self-destructive with her, so it was no surprise that she reacted so badly.

"It's not helpful, but you know lost a battle win a war." He was really bad at comforting people, Hakuba wasn't sure why Aoko always came to him when she need to talk. He was good at listening, but he had the sensation that Akako wasn't the talking type.

Akako wasn't the most optimistic person. She liked to think of herself as a realist. She didn't bother with childish naivete, and under normal circumstances she didn't respond well to such talk.

But... seeing as it was Hakuba, there was something different about it this time.

With a weary sigh, she leaned forward and rest her head against Hakuba's chest. She could feel his heart beating, and couldn't help but notice that it sounded weary as well.

It had been a long week. She felt like crying. But if she did...

"I don't ever want to see her again," the witch said sternly.

"You don't have to." He reassured her, trying to comfort her and knowing that nothing was enough. He smelled the sweet scent of her perfume and blushed. He realized that he been in a cold cell for four days with the same clothes, and he was probably smelling like humidity and dirt.

"Uhm..Akako..." Hakuba took her softly by her shoulders and mover Akako away, but not enough to make her feel rejected. "I..I'm not.." He blushed more, feeling stupid. "I need a shower." He ended, ashamed.

Akako blinked at the detective for a moment, before she smiled knowingly. "Of course, Saguru," she said as she stood up. "I can show you where it is."

In all honesty... she really didn't mind. She was just glad he was safe, and felt better knowing he was there to hold her again.

"Thanks Akako." Hakuba smiled softly, he was dying for a long hot bath. He realized another thing, though. "Uhm...I don't have anymore clothes." He frowned at his suit. "I don't really feel like use it again once I'm done. And I don't' feel like going around your house naked either, as tempting as may sound." Not only me, at least."Thanks Akako." Akako smiled at Hakuba slyly. "Don't worry about that Saguru," she said as she helped him stand up, "I'll conjure you up a pair of pajamas." Truthfully, the witch wasn't thinking the purest thoughts at the moment, but considering what had just happened and how exhausted and injured the two were, she wasn't going to say anything.

So instead, she lead the detective to the bathroom. "I'll be in the kitchen when you're done." She hesitated briefly, before tugging at the collar of his suit and pulling him down for a kiss. The first one since he had returned.

His body automatically responded to hers. He could feel the stirrings of teenage lust humming through his veins. The thing of it was, this did not feel like just any old case of teenage lust. It felt like more. The sent of her was intoxicating... sweet and salty all mixed into one. His body was addicted to her body, and the very perfume that was her sent wafted up to him on that night he told her that he loved her. In the end, Hakuba wrapped his arms around her, his nose caressing hers and smiling like a cat.

"Do you want to join me?" He joked, no expecting her to take him seriously.

Oh, but it wasn't wise to joke about such things with Akako. With another sly grin (the kind that only the witch managed to pull off for some reason) she leaned in and stole another kiss. "Gladly," she told him when it ended. And she meant it too.

Their relationship might have only begun a short time ago, but Akako wasn't the type of woman to wait. Besides... you couldn't ignore all those months of unresolved sexual tension now, could you?

Hakuba's eyebrows raised up, and his brain stopped on his tracks.

"Uh..wha..you're not serious." He blushed again. "I thought that you was tired too."

Akako frowned. "Don't ask such questions if you don't mean them," she retorted curtly. She pulled away and spun around to walk towards the kitchen. "Let me know when you're done then."

"I mean it, it's just...not now" Hakuba murmured to the empty corridor, confused. He really wanted to be with her, but he was afraid that they were going a bit too fast. They been dating for less than a week after all, and he was...and old fashioned guy.

Saguru shacked his head an entered the bathroom hoping that Akako's bathtub don't have snake-shapes designs.

Unfortunately, Akako's bathtub had snake-shaped faucets. She was a fan of the snake motif, after all.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Akako sat at her dining room table blowing on her own cup of tea, lost in her own thoughts.

As tired as he was, Sakuba couldn't think of an occasion where he bathed faster. He just couldn't stand at the reptiles, even if they weren't real. His mid section was covered with a towel, but he couldn't find the pajamas Akako promised him.

She will probably conjured them in the kitchen, just to torture him. With a discontent sigh, the blond teenager went to the kitchen and knocked at the door, opening it a bit to see where Akako was, but trying to not show much of himself.

"Uhm, Akako, my love...you forgot something."

occ he told Tyki about the piercing prank, but he really didn't' tell him if he still has it or not, so your choice. >:3

Akako glanced up from her tea to see Hakuba peeking through the kitchen door. She chuckled to herself and waved a hand, and suddenly a nice pair flannel pajamas appeared on the chair next to her.

Then she went back to sipping her tea.

Why yes, she did expect him to come into the kitchen to fetch the pajamas himself.

((I-I think he would have taken it out XD So... not there anymore?))

"Akako..." Hakuba frowned. The girl keep sipping her tea. He frowned more. She smiled. Hakuba sighed as he entered the kitchen, and went near her. He took the pajamas and blushed a bit.

"Thanks."

Akako watched as Hakuba entered the kitchen to retrieve his pajamas.

For a detective... he really was in shape. And he was so cute when he blushed.

"Are you going to change in here?" She teased with one eyebrow arched in amusement.

Hakuba blushed even more. He knew that the answer If you want me wasn't a good idea, Because Akako was probably serious again. He really didn't felt like opening his mouth, he will cave his own grave if he do it, so he shacked his head and ran away from the kitchen.

He returned less than five minutes later, still embarrassed, but feeling much better now that he was decent. he offered a hand to Akako.
"Aren't you tired? Do you want to catch some sleep?"

By the time he was done, Akako had finished her tea. She reached up, took the detective's hand, and allowed him to help her out of her seat. Sleep sounded like a good thing right now, particularly since she was still exhausted.

... even though she still wasn't having decent thoughts.

"Yes," she responded, "I haven't slept well since you were kidnapped."

Hakuba put an arm around Akako's waist and pulled her close to him. As they walked, he found himself searching for her contact in every occasion that he had.

"My either, my love." the blonde boy kissed her forehead. "I couldn't stop thinking about you, I will never forgive myself if something happens to you because of me. I'm surprised that you forgive me."

They where now in front of Akako's bedroom

Akako frowned. "There really isn't anything for you to apologize for," she responded.

"I need to be more careful." He murmured in a soft voice, a bit angry with himself. He looked at the door for a moment and then smiled back at her.

"So uhm...I should let you rest."
