clockmaster: (Betrayed)

[RL with Zechs, Tyki and Rufus]

Hakuba shivered, the weather wasn't any better now than when he left Gaia a few days ago. He nearly killed himself driving the iced road, he still needs more driving lessons. The detective couldn't use the flying broom, he gave it to that demon woman, Trish, anticipating that Elphaba would not mind. He imagined that the witch would symphatize with another woman who was being hunted like her, and, after all, the broom will fly back to it's original owner if something goes wrong. If not, he would just have to deal with another psychopathic friend.

The boy realy hoped that all was going well on the Ark...Tyki was really alive, and he remembered Zechs and the community. Such a relief. Hakuba was still worried and a bit scared, but damn him if he was going to left that kind of emotions to take control. Hakuba was in front of Zechs's door now, he had the keys of the apartmen, but he hesitated. Zechs was less than joyful when he prevented him to go to his lover's side for the second time. Knowing that trying to trying to delay the inevitable was useless, he opened the door carefully.

"Zechs?"

Zechs' inner ire was rising again, as the men around him spoke as if he was a child. It only emphasized the feeling of frustration within him - the feeling of inadequacy and helplessness. In his mind, he was effectively shut in and made even more vulnerable. If he refused, he would have to leave. And that would mean not only being homeless - could he even return to his Earth? - but also leaving Tyki. Not only that, but he still doubted Tyki yet wanted him any longer.

His hands clenched onto the fabric of his pants as this rage and irritation filled him. However, that hair's breath of control he managed to gain earlier kept him from lashing out. He was intelligent to know it would do him no good. However, Zechs didn't want to be treated like some stupid, foolish, helpless child. His instinct now was to walk away. And he was doing everything within his power to keep himself from doing so.

Tightly, trying to convince himself he could at least make sure Tyki was well before he left them all, should they really view him so useless, Zechs said to Rufus, "Very well." His voice was drenched in bitterness.

Looking inward, face twisted in that indefinable expression, he said lowly, "I would ask what you would expect of me, President, Detective, but it is clear. I shall remain a toothless hound at your disposal. It is obvious my use has run out elsewhere."

For without the edge of the ZERO ... They didn't understand. It was the only advantage he could have.

Tyki looked at Zechs now, struggling to keep his face expressionless, when inwardly he was cursing. It was too much to pile on Zechs all at the same time, he was sure, and he needed to get him alone and reassure him.

He prayed silently that both Rufus and Hakuba would hold off on calling Zechs on that remark about uselessness, for now.

"Thank you, Rufus," he said quietly. "And Saguru, thank you for being here while I was not."

He rose slowly to his feet. "Zechs, will you take me to the Healin Lodge, now? I think we should leave immediately, and I presume you have a vehicle or something?"

Rufus pursed his lips before he disappeared to make a phone call and sat down on Zechs' computer. Few people knew that the president had learned a few tips about hacking. He looked for the script that he downloaded to Zechs' computer that grated him access to the ShinRa Telnet and subsequent files relevant to his access before he started to write his own that would eventually wipe the harddrive clean of any ShinRa information.

... like he owned the place.

"It's the President," He said into the phone, "Mr. Mikk is on route, have the doctors already there... yes. One guest."

He was silent as he wrote a few figures down before placing them in his pocket. Once he was done, he faced the two of them.

"Your room is ready. Zechs will have a guest cot - we'll discuss pricing later."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hakuba raised an eyebrow at Rufus, he does not only ignored his question but went all on president mode on them. He went to the kitchen again and, with a bit of difficulty, he took the platter with the three tea cups and the potion that he didn't drank.

He come back to the living room and offered the tea to Tyki and Zechs. His left arm was fixed on his side and the gesture made him look like a waiter.

"it will be good for you two." He adventured, looking at Tyki. "The weather is still cold and you're only wearing...that."

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Zechs' lips pursed, his expression still rather strained, but much calmer than it had been. He was folding all of his anger and frustration internally again. In a way, it was because the worst outcome to his decision hadn't really happened yet. Once they got to the hospital - or perhaps once they were in a vehicle alone - he would find out what the Noah would say to him.

He resisted the urge to quip something back at Rufus, but he had a lot he wanted to say. How about, "I could probably buy your damned hospital if I wanted to," or perhaps, "Would you care to commandeer my journal while you're at it?" But he restrained himself again, admirably. He hoped someone noticed the effort he was putting into this. Instead, he merely said, in a somewhat flat voice, "Very well. Your hospitality is appreciated, President."

He glared at Hakuba's tea and stood, ready to brace Tyki if he needed it. "No thank you, Detective. We should be going. However ... " Zechs examined Tyki's state of dress. "Perhaps it is best you would change, Tyki."

His eyes snapped towards the unopened bottle of X-Potion. Not bothering to shield his anger, he snapped, "And for God's sake, are you some manner of masochist? Drink the damned potion."

[identity profile] tyki-tock.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Tyki shook his head wearily. "There's no point. They'll just make me change again when I get there." He wanted to get out of here so desperately that he could taste it, get out of here and go somewhere where he could be alone with Zechs and talk to him. He didn't care about clothes or potions or anything.

"Let's go." He glanced towards the kitchen briefly, worried about Hakuba and his hand, but then turned away again. Zechs was his priority, and Hakuba wasn't going to die from a broken hand. He could take care of himself, and Tyki would make it up to him later. Somehow.

Tyki turned and walked slowly towards the door.

Quickly, Zechs made his way to Tyki's side, not so much because he thought his lover wanted him there, but more for the fact he didn't think the Noah could manage walking very well. He didn't argue with the man about the clothes. In fact, he seemed to be rather silent, all things considered. When Rufus distractedly said something about a helicopter waiting for them on the roof, he merely nodded, preoccupied.

It was obvious what he was preoccupied with, of course. As relatively calm as he was now, his face was rather shadowed and lined as he thought about his situation. Inside, he was still angry and frustrated - but was also feeling rather guilty now as well. He felt extremely vulnerable and uncertain about both his job position and his relationship with Tyki. And, on top of all that ... part of him felt extremely anxious merely not having the ZERO at all. Which only made saner parts of him worry about his own mental health.

In silence, shouldering most of Tyki's weight, he led them out of the apartment and down the hall, towards the elevator. Thank god the power had returned, at least.

Yes, I am probably a masochist, If it wasn't I would not have such friends, Hakuba thought, frustrated. If I can call you all that, that's is.

He left the tea and the potion on the living room's table and sat on the nearest chair. It was more easy when he didn't have friends at all, like now, they all left him alone in the end. It would be easier not to care, but he couldn't help himself.

Hakuba looked at the broken pieces of metal around the floor. He was going to need to clean up the mess. With a groan, he took the bottle and drank it in a second, throwing it away after that. The sound of the crystal crashing was somehow comforting.

"You hand's broken." Rufus stated simply as he finished off the work on Zechs' machine. "There should be enough of the X-Potion to heal it until you get to Healin too."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"You are blond. If we are going to start pointing the obvious..." Hakuba knew that he was being rude, but he was too tired to care. Rufus's next words caught him off guard and he changed his voice tone.

"I'm fine. It's just a hand." It hurt a lot, though, punching a computer was not one of his brighter ideas, but it did the job.

[identity profile] shinra-pwnsjoo.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
Rufus rolled his eyes as he extended his arm, the black bracer going up his forearm with another piece of materia in it. His hand looked gaunt and pale as he reached out for Hakuba's hand in his own. Green light poured from his fingers and over Hakuba's hand.

"This should be okay."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Like every injured creature, Hakuba's first instinct was to move away his hand from the contact, but he fought against the impulse. The potion helped and after what Rufus did he was feeling a way much better.

"Thanks." He was curious about the green light, unlike the golden one that seemed different, and felt different. "What was that?"

[identity profile] shinra-pwnsjoo.livejournal.com 2008-12-16 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Something you shouldn't ask about," Rufus retorted, allowing the ball to fall out of the bracer as he put it back in his pocket.

"Go to Healin too, they'll fix your hand."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-16 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"No I probably shouldn't." Hakuba nooded, feeling relly tired now. "Why are you doing this, Rufus?"

[identity profile] tyki-tock.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
((And Zechs and Tyki are out of this thread, and off over here (http://tyki-tock.livejournal.com/12401.html) if Hakuba and Rufus want to keep going))

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
