Angry detective is Angry

Even if the Phantom Thief's heists were always unique, there's some unsaid rules.

The first one, of course, is expect the unexpected. I can't get used to that one in particular. I hate it when I lose control of the situation. The Second, and most important, is that no one gets hurt. The third, is that everything that he stole is returned eventually.

As I said,

NO.ONE.GETS.HURT.

And no one is able to catch him before I do. Even less, to kill him...

After much investigating of data and close personal observation on multiple chases, and some extortion on Nakamori-keibu and the task forces for information of the late heits, I noticed a sudden upswing of flying bullets in the direction of one phantom thief and the people on his tail.

I venture that such a thing would require further investigation.

I don't ask them to shoot at me. They do that on their own accord. And honestly, I'd rather have them shooting at me than at someone else.

What happened? Some people just can't learn to let things go, that's what happened.

((Letting was correct))

Honestly, I'd rather have them in jail than shooting people.

What things?

((:3 Yay thanks!))

I would have to agree with you there.

I'd rather not have to spell it out for you. Use your own powers of deduction to figure it out~ That being said, I'm sure you've noticed a particular 'pattern' with my heists?

...

Good. Now, what are we going to do about it?

Pattern? Do you mean your sudden interest in antique jewels named after colors? Oh, no, I didn't noticed.

Do you know the person who shot you?

I can't do anything, being a thief and all. You are going to get an investigation team together and look into the matter yourself. My job isn't to apprehend them, it's to make their presence known so detectives such as yourself can.

Oh good, you're catching on! And the fact that I target certain gems and return them after I'm through with would suggest... what? C'mon now, don't disappoint me, you're on a roll!

Of course I don't.

Nothing I can't survive, although I'll have to give the Taskforce a break for the next few weeks. A shame, really, I was planning for another heist to take place about three days from now, too.

You can, at least, try not to be so flamboyant. You catch people's attention with your performances, bad people. It's not dangerous only for you, it's dangerous for all the people around you too. I'm going to investigate, of course, but I don't think that Nakamori-keibu or the task force are going to help at all. He don't even trust me when I told him about the strange things happening in your latest heist.

Don't talk to me like I'm retarded, Kid. It's quite obvious that you're looking for something. The question is "what"?

I analyzed the jewels you stole, form, weight, color... I even tried to cut them, to see if they were something more than what they looked like (Nakamori-keibu got crazy that time, and my father wasn't happy either), but I couldn't find anything characteristic..yet.

Uhm... you don't know at least how he looks like? anything distinctive about him? A scar, a tattoo...something.

Have you ever entertained the idea that I want to attract their attention? Typical Inspector with his one-track mind... I have to say, I may not like you very much but you do make my job a whole lot more interesting.

My my, aren't we a bit on edge today? What else would I be looking for except a certain gem, that I obviously haven't found yet? As for the men who enjoy shooting at me, they're obviously after the same thing.

He goes by the name of Snake, and that's all I know.

I'm a phantom, Hakuba-san, and a phantom can't be killed because they're already dead.

Oh, excuse me, I didn't know that you was suicidal.

I'm not on the edge today, I'm just a bit...sensitive than usual. I'm not going to ask why are you so interested in that gem, because I know that you're not going to answer me, but if more people are looking for it, it will be an arduous quest. And a dangerous one.

Try not to get killed before I catch you.

It's something. Thanks. Any idea how old it's he?

Re: [Posting as Kid-- Anonymous]

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-07-24 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not suicidal. Someone has to be the bait to draw them out, after all. They wouldn't show themselves otherwise. Why thank you~

I was aware of the dangers when I first took up the hat and monocle that make me who I am.

I can assure you, I'll remain as alive as I can, although for my own reasons and not yours. And no, I have no idea how old he is.

Touché, Hakuba-san.

Yes, someone must. The police, not you. Your job is to steal things our job is to catch criminal. Aren’t you breaking some criminal law doing that? What about honour among thieves?

You didn't took the hat and the monocle out of the blue just because some day you decided that it would be cool to steal things and make fun of the police. I will discover your reasons too Kid.

Inspector Nakamori keeps telling me that you should be a middle-aged man, because he already tried to catch you year ago. I disagree, wich is not a suprise because Nakamori-keibu and I disagree in a lot of things but still...I saw photos of the 'old’ Phantom Thief and he was taller and less showy than you. Maybe he was your master.

The only code thieves such as myself live by is the one they make for themselves. Those men in black don't play by my rules, so I am not bound to play by theirs. And if you think my job is as black and white as that, then you should obviously reconsider your view on what good and evil truly are.

I await the day you do find out, Hakuba-san~ Let's just hope you're right.

Perhaps. Or perhaps I am the same thief from ten years ago, pretending to act younger and more showy to throw off Inspector Nakamori and the Taskforce. I could even be a woman, for all you know, disguising my gender to protect my identity! There are many possibilities Hakuba-san, and I'm confident you don't have the evidence necessary to narrow them down.

I was just asking, geez sometimes you’re worse than a woman. Don’t get so riled up, what about your poker face? I have problems to understand people motivations after all [typed then deleted]

I’m perfectly aware that right and wrong are hard to explain. I’m not that close minded. I will suck at my job if I be.

I will try my best.

Act younger and more showy to throw off Inspector Nakamori and the Taskforce? I doubt it, you enjoy their participation a way too much. But you’re right about some points. Do want me to fondle you the next time we meet in a heist, to be sure if you are or you’re not a woman? I will never do that to a real lady, but I doubt that you would say yes if I ask you on a date.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-07-25 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not riled up at all, actually. I was just stating a point~

Just because I enjoy their participation doesn't mean I don't enjoy confusing them sometimes. And Hakuba-san, I didn't know you were that interested in me~♥ By all all means, feel free to try and fondle me at the next heist-- if you can~

As I said, focussed>/em>, not obsessed

Are you defying me?

(OOC: just imagine that during a heist. Nakamori will go all brainded. But I'm sure that some fangirls will love it XD muahahaha opsie, must go to sleep, it's 4 a.m O_O')

Re: [Posting as Kid-- Anonymous]

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-07-25 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all~ It's just a challenge.

Note to self: do not get anywhere near Hakuba on the next heist.

((Ahahaha... he would! Kaito's brain would break too, actually, since he doesn't expect Hakuba to actually do it XD He's just messing with the British detective's head~ Also, strikes not hackable))

Ok. I enjoy a good challange, even if this one in particular is a bit strange.
