[RL with Akako]

Hakuba was sitting on the comfy couch of Akako's house, looking at the ceiling. Not only because it was one of the few things on the room that didn't have snake patters on it- which it was a relief- but also because he felt really tired and frustrated, and glaring at the ceiling was better than glaring at his girlfriend. After all, Akako was not the cause of his frustrations, but the cure, and the witch was better at giving death glares than him.

Akako entered the living room from the kitchen with a tray of tea (not her own special blend, for once). She knelt on the ground next to Hakuba and offered him one of the steaming cups, her brow furrowed in worry. She knew Hakuba had been through a lot in the past few weeks, and she was beginning to fear that he was overexerting himself. He didn't look like he was sleeping much, and she knew for a fact that he was displeased with the quick recovery of his arm.

What was worse, however, were Akako's own feelings of worthlessness. Three times he had been kidnapped. And each and every time, she had been unable to help, either due to the community interfering with her magic or something else.

It was... frustrating, to say the least. And it made Akako feel like a terrible girlfriend. She didn't want to be a terrible girlfriend to the only male who actually saw her for what she was.

The witch reached out and brushed the detective's blond bands away from his forehead. "Are you alright?" she asked.
