What is it about Alize?

It's a masked festival held every year on my world in the seaside city of Zaza. It lasts for about a week, and there's balls and a fighting tournament. I invite a bunch of people every year, and Kaito said he wanted to visit my world, so I said he should come. Especially since he's a magician -- the Countess pays a lot for good entertainers during the festival.

It's really famous.

The Mascorrida is for all fighting styles. It takes place in an arena, and you win by destroying your opponent's mask. Firearms aren't allowed.

It wasn't always like that. A few years ago it was held to decide the next heir of the city, and it got really dangerous. But the Dauphine Stir was named heir, so now it's only for fun. The prize is the golden Sun Mask and a favour from the Countess.

She hasn't ascended to the throne yet. Her mother is the Countess Dubonnet. Stir was passed over at first because she's a girl, but she disguised herself and snuck into the tournament to fight for her own place as heir.

I'm not really sure. The person who won last year left without ever using it.

((It's surprisingly upbeat for that kind of song, too. And yup, case in point. Stir, Alize, Cassis, Anisette, Rose, Fino, Kirsche . . . Jing is actually supposed to be "Gin", but they spelled it "Jing" so that Japanese people would pronounce it right.))

She really is. I heard she was almost killed in her last match.

It doesn't matter. I'm not a fighter, so it's not like I could get her favour. I've heard some people talk about asking for everything from gold to being knighted, though.

((I wouldn't have noticed it either if some of the other names in the series weren't so obvious. And if they didn't have a list of them all in the back of the manga. XD;))

The person who tried to kill her wasn't even her opponent. He was some crazy guy in the audience. They say he got chased out into the thorn forest and no one ever saw him again.

The Queen of england can knight someone in recognition of his services and contributions. Honorary knighthoods are awarded periodically to citizens if they have had an important influence in the U.K
