Hakuba blinked, looking down at his small hands as they traveled trough the Ark. Perhaps he was hallucinating. He had been pulling several late nights recently and mayhap it was affecting him more than he realized. But no, he was in fact, a six years old kid, wearing now vintage children's clothes from the 19th century thanks to Tyki. he sighed miserably, glad that the other man was there to help him.

"People who laugh live longer, Rufus," Dark defended. He ruffled up his blond hair out of its neat smile, still grinning like a dork. "And you look cute like that."

Hakuba glared in response, but he let it go, smiling the next moment. "Fine, but just because now I discovered that he is ticklish. Who had to ask now? i think it's Rufus's turn. or Dark's"

Rufus pulled Dark's ear hard because of the statement. His cheeks red with indignation and still from the blood pumping through him. He swatted Dark's hand away, hand against the his arm.

"Let me down, I can walk myself. And I'm not playing this game."

"Ooow." Not that the tugging on his ear hurt, but he couldn't resist teasing Rufus like this. With a sigh, he carefully set Rufus back on his own two feet.

"Haven't you played Truth or Dare before?" Dark asked. "You'll make Hakuba feel lonely."

"it's quite obvious that he didn't." The detective responded, coming close to them and smiling at Dark. "Thanks for that." He moved his small hand distractedly towards the other blonde child, meaning the fact that he made Rufus's laugh. "I guess that it's your time, since he don't want to play...for now."

"That's just because he's a spoilsport." Dark went back to threading his fingers through Rufus' hair; it was just a habit of his. "Well, if I have to - truth."

"You're telling me?" Hakuba agreed and then thought for a moment. A shark's smile bloomed on his child features. "From all the people, why Rufus?"

"I second that," Tyki said cheerfully, tipping a wicked smirk at Rufus. "Since he is such a spoil sport."

Despite his words, and despite all of the arguments that they had had, and yet would have, there was a thread of affection in Tyki's tone. Despite himself, he still liked Rufus.

He just wished he wasn't such a prick half the time. Most of the time.

"I..." Dark wasn't really sure how to answer that. Was there supposed to be a specific reason? He couldn't say.

"Can you resist a face like this~?" he said, reaching down to pinch one of Rufus' cheeks.

Hakuba glared at him.

"That's not a real answer." Why thieves never could answer him straight?

Rufus' face once again scrunched up, by now it was just a reflex. He clutched Dark's arm and tried to wrench his way from him.

"Do you really need a reason to be with someone?" Rufus retorted, not that he really cared why Dark was with him or not. Just that he was there in the morning.

"I suppose you don't need a reason," Tyki said, leaning against the wall. "But usually there are things you like about that person, that makes them seem fairer in your eyes than others."

Dark gave a surprised look at Rufus, just for a moment, then quickly replaced it with a smile. He would tease him about that comment later.

"His fair skin and sapphire blue eyes, of course," he said melodramatically, poking at Rufus' cheeks playfully. "They stare into the depths of my soul so well."

"Fair enough." Hakuba clucked. "Just as long as you don't start hitting on me."

"Why would he downgrade to you?" Rufus replied coolly. There was a protective tone in his voice, "And you stop pulling my cheeks."

Tyki chuckled and just shook his head, just entertaining himself by watching the others squabble.

"Well," he said, straightening up. "Dark, I suppose it's time for me to hand off the babysitting responsibilities to you."

"Rufus, be nice when playing with others." Dark did finally let go, but gave Rufus' cheek one last tug.

"...You're leaving them with me?" he asked Tyki. He was kidding, right?

Hakuba glared at Rufus, but didn't say anything. In vengeance, he tickled him. Then he turned back to Tyki. "Say hello to Zechs from me."

"Stop that Hakuba," Rufus snapped, genuinely angry that Hakuba had dared to do it. Anger flashed across Rufus' face before he hid it behind his mask again and heading upstairs to hide from everyone.

Tyki raised an eyebrow as Rufus stalked off to sulk, then glanced to Dark. "Oh yes, I most definitely am," he said with a wicked smirk.

He smiled at Hakuba and turned away, heading down the stairs and lifting his hand in a casual wave. "Of course, Hakuba, I'll say hello for you. Have fun, you three."

Hakuba glared at Rufus acting like a brat and blinked at Tyki's. he was now alone with a man that he barely know and a grumpy president that refused to let people know him.

And that was the reason why he didn't have friends when he was a kid, he was never sure how to manage them. Criminals and burglars where easy compared to social relationships. Dark was a thief, that was true, but it was not like he had anything against him or was going to try to catch him. He looked at Dark, not sure what to do now.

Rufus was just merely trying to regain his composure. He had actually lost his temper in front of Hakuba and worse yet, Tyki. There was a reason why Rufus had no friends as a kid. All the kids parent's belonged to his father and then there was the fact that Rufus had been so antisocial his whole life he didn't know how to do it without trying to use someone. He washed his little face and looked down at his hands and chest, waiting for his heart to stop pounding before descending again.

"Rufus..." Dark said tiredly when the boy came back. He knew Rufus' moods pretty well by now and had a feeling on what his mood was right now. "You wanna just go home?"

The small detective looked at them quizzically. He never wanted to be a kid again, and he never wanted to live again that part of his childhood either. If he wanted to stay with someone who don't wanted him near he would been gone to her mother, thank you very much.

"You don't have to babysit me." He said,his voice revealing nothing. "Watson is on the first floor, I will go to pick up her and..go somewhere."

And with that, Hakuba turned back to the stairs, his small body tense.
