[RL With Zechs- Noah'splot]

As they accorded (even if that wasn't the most perfect word to describe their last conversation), Hakuba come to Zechs's apartment. He used Elphaba's broom to travel to Gaia for different reasons. The first one was that he was not that good at driving yet and he doubted that he could use the whorldhopping car. And the second one, and most important, is that there was no possibility that Zechs could use the broom to whordlhopp to the Ark.

He was not a coward man, but he was not stupid either, and Zechs didn't sounded like he was on his right mind, so Hakuba took with him his fencing sword and a potion that Akako gave him. He wished that he don't have to use any of them. The boy couldn't blame Zechs after all, he was worried about Tyki too, and if something like that ever happens to Akako he will go as crazy as Zechs. But someone needed to remind in control, even if he didn't feel calm at all.poker face , Kuroba would call it.

He knocked at Zechs' door.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-01 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Zechs' smile now was more genuine, a soft sort of expression. "Initially I learned other languages ... to read and write in them, certainly. I also have a great love for books."

He didn't remark on the idea of drinking to forget. He was trying hard not to think about his lover right now - how worried he was about him. He had to be cold right now. Calm. Resolute.

Slowly, Zechs shook his head. With that bit of surprise in his voice, he said in a quiet tone, "You are my guest here, Saguru, and yet you have cooked for my person. You need not apologize."

Zechs wasn't used to people caring for him like this. Noin had done so perhaps on two occasions, back in the academy. And Tyki had done so, obviously.

But Hakuba ... they were hardly more than strangers. Zechs didn't know what to say.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-01 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"I didn't cook anything special at all, you're grateful because you don't ate it yet." Hakuba motioned to the table where the breakfast was waiting and walked towards the kitchen's sink.

"Doyle and I are not done with the ZERO system, it will take us some more hours." His back is still turned away from the older man, focusing on making some more orange juice for Zechs and a cup of coffee for himself.

"Are you going to work today? Because if you don't want to go, I will show you a little trick that Doyle can do."Pausing for a moment, he looked over hsi shoulder and grinned at Zechs. "I will show it to you anyway, because I trust you."

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Feeling a bit chagrined, Zechs paused, standing in the kitchen. Even when he was in the best of moods, his appetite was best described as minimal. Now, to be frank, he wasn't hungry for food in the slightest. The hangover didn't help that, of course. Either way, he was trying to think of a polite way to turn down breakfast after all of Hakuba's hard work.

For a moment, he instead welcomed the change in subject. "I will have to leave for work. In the afternoon I must finish ... a task for my employer, shall we say. Regardless, daily I am without fail on time for my job. Yet we should have time for a short demonstration, if you would wish to do so."

He bowed his head a little. "You honor me with your trust, Hakuba." Then he narrowed his eyes at the boy. "While I am at work, perhaps you should sleep a little yourself?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
He turned back around and grabbed the glass of juice and the mug of coffee. Setting them down in front of zechs, Hakuba looked at the untouched food.

“If you don't feel like eating it's ok, but please, drink at least the juice.” He carefully pulls out one chair and made a face as it squeaked against the floor. “Sorry.”

Such a bad furniture, Hakuba thought. The last night he managed to find a notepad on the living room, and wrote all the things that Zechs and Tyki will need if they wanted to turn the apartment in a real home. He was going to add 'new kitchen's chairs' to the list.

"Sound like a plan. I will try to do it." Even if I don't think I could. He drank enough coffee to keep him awake the whole night and the morning, He knew that it was goign to be impossible. But he was a man of word, so he will try at least.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
The apartment wasn't their home. Their home was in Switzerland on Dark's world, in the house Tyki had bought for them. Filled with pieces of furniture they enjoyed. Little bits and pieces of decorations they had been finding here and there. Zechs' wide and immense collection of books. The apartment on Gaia was merely somewhere to live while Rufus needed his skills. Switzerland had their home.

Zechs had no desire to go there, with Tyki gone.

Apologetically, he nodded his head towards Hakuba. "I do not wish to insult you by ignoring the food you have gone to such lengths to repair. I am thankful. Yet I do not have a great appetite."

He did drink the juice. Raising an eyebrow, he asked, "What did you wish to show me with Doyle?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Hakuba shake his head. "I'm not insulted, I just thought that maybe you was hungry. I will eat it, don't worry."

He wanted to ask Zechs if he likes his job in Gaia, but he didn't had the heart to do it. the boy was afraid that it will just make the other man remember because of Who he had to left his other job.

Hakuba smiled at Zechs question. "It's nothing really special, but it can be fun, and useful. Give me a second. "

The detective left the kitchen just to return in a few second with the laptop on his hands. He carefully left it on the table. Doyle was still working on ZERO, but Hakuba minimized the windows, happy that the A.I, was able to multi task without problem.

"Doyle, run the StarSystem program, please." Two new windows pop up, one with a list of names, another was a blank window.

Hakuba grinned at Zechs like a shark for a moment, choose a name from the list and then his fingers run over the keyboard.

"You two usually share that brother-like moments often or it's an special occasion? Zechs you're late for the job, I give you 3 minutes to come here or I'm sending the turks to find you personally. Sometimes I amaze myself at my generosity. "A dry voice informed them, coming from the computer. Rufus's voice.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Zechs' eyes widened, and he laughed, unable to help himself. Some cynical part of him was glad Hakuba was his friend, rather than an enemy or rival. He was impressed. While he didn't necessarily have an ear for it, to him, the computer sounded exactly like Rufus.

"Fascinating," he said, once he stopped laughing. "How does it work? Whom are you able to mimic? Do you require a sample of the voice in order to imitate the individual?"

Unlike some individuals he could think of, Zechs was only asking out of curiosity. At the moment, it didn't occur to him the sort of damage a person could do with a computer program like that.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
"It's easy, just like a recorder. Doyle watch over the community too, he used the voice post and videopost of the members to recorder their voices and synthesize them. I added my father, Nakamoi-keibu, Kaito's mother too, that was thank to the fact that they called me and Doyle use my phone to recorder their voices. Not everyone on the comm is here, because some people never did voice post but, the list is large."

Hakuba showed the screen to Zechs, the list was in Alphabetical order, but the names of Kuroba Kaito and kaito KID were on the same line. Aoko, Akako, Azula, Karen, Bass, Apollo, Zechs himself...all of them were there. Tyki too.

Hakuba's smiled grow wider. "You know, the musical virus was like Christmas coming early. I have the Dalec Sec's song there too, but it can't be too much for you sensibility Zechs. Wanna play?"

Hakuba just wanted to distract him a bit. The SrtartSystem was fun to play with, but it could do some damage too. You could reemplace someone identity with it too if you wanted. Rufus for example, it was really easy to Hack Gaia's loudspeakers and proclaim with Rufu's voice that another war had started. or choose the voice of your beloved one to hear it again, in that case.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Eyes widening again, Zechs skimmed through the list, subconsciously committing a portion of it to memory. He noted Kuroba Kaito and Kaitou Kid shared the same entry, but did not comment upon it - merely memorized the fact. Amused, he said, "One would have a significant means to commit damage with this program. I am thankful you consider my person your friend, Detective."

His face tensed a little when Hakuba mentioned the musical, but then his expression was calm again. The virus where he became a bird was not one he enjoyed in the least. Perhaps from Hakuba's perspective, it was amusing, but not his own. Zechs reminded himself that the boy seemed sympathetic to his plight before, and likely did not laugh at him.

With the work he wished to get done - both his job as a Turk and his work on the ZERO system - Zechs had little time to play. He finished his juice and stood, bowing slightly.

"I thank you for your kind offer to engage in such mischief, Detective, yet I feel obligated to prepare now to leave for work."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
The boy just laughed softly. "I mean no harm with it."

He watched as Zechs drank the juice but didn't touched the food. He would need to be sure that the other man ate something the present day.

"But of course, Rufus will not be happy if you're late." Hakuba ran a hand through his hair as an habit. "I don't really know your work schedules, you will come home for dinner?"

The question was strange, even for Hakuba's standards, and he blinked at his own comment about home . He didn't do it on purpose, though.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Zechs blinked, and then attempted a slight smile. Softly, he replied, "I will attempt to be at the apartment for supper, this is true." It was notable he did not call this place home. Home was the house Tyki bought for him. But Hakuba had no way of knowing that.

"My schedule as dictated by Rufus is 'whenever I say I need you.' Yet, generally, I attempt to be available from eight o'clock until the late evening," Zechs answered. "I have taken to returning to the apartment for supper, then remaining 'on call' for Rufus should he require my services. Frequently he calls at odd hours for my person."

Before he left to shower and dress for work, however, he gave Hakuba a suspicious glance. "Just how long are you intending on staying, Detective?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
The boy just nodded, the concept of working' that Rufus had for his Turks was too much like the concept of 'slavery' that Hakuba has, but he didn't say nothing.

"Today is Rufus and Dark's anniversary. Rufus will be busy at night, or in a good mood at least." Hakuba informed him. His motto was always knowledge is power . Then he remembered that Rufus's apartment was over Zechs's and winced.

"If you want the truth, as long as you let me stay here...and after that, I'm moving to the nearest apartment." He replied firmly, his blue eyes fixed into Zechs matching ones. Hakuba couldn't help but grin after a few moments, when a thought come to his mind. "And Rufus owe me more than one favor."

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
The man was too much of a workaholic to object to the schedule, much, even when Tyki was around. Now, he wanted to be busy as much as possible. When he wasn't at work, he'd be in the apartment attempting to build the ZERO system. Keeping busy was the only way Zechs really knew how to cope with something like this.

There was enough within him, however, to feel a cynical sort of amusement at Hakuba's statement. "If that is to be the case, perhaps I should make certain I am armed and ready to assist them at all hours. They have not a fair track record with such things, do they?"

But Zechs met Hakuba's gaze unflinchingly. Just a hint of suspicion was there, however he said, "You are welcome to stay, for now, as you are assisting my person with the ZERO system."

"However. Why?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hakuba looked confused for a moment and then he remembered how Rufus and Dark's anniversaries always ended being less than a romantic evening and more like a kidnapping/killing attempt.

"Oh, that's right."

Hakuba looked at Zechs with a glare of his own.

"There's multiple reasons. The most easy and indisputable is because I want to."

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Zechs looked a little startled, for a fraction of a moment, before he recovered his calm again. He took a good look at the boy - a really good look. Though he did trust Hakuba - enough so that the detective now knew about Tallgeese, and his relationship with Tyki, and now even the ZERO system - he was really too cynical for him to believe someone would drop everything and move in with a guy just because they wanted to.

And then Zechs suspected something - though it was the wrong thing. His eyes narrowed in warning. "If you wish to remain out of some semblance of pity, then know now you are not welcome."

There were few things Zechs hated more than to be pitied. Especially as he was coming to respect the boy a good deal. While they did not know each other well, Zechs liked him well enough that Hakuba had the ability to hurt him - especially his pride. This was one of the reasons the man made few friends.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Hakuba was familiar with Zech's expreion, Alize looked at him like that too. Alize made him the same question when Hakuba told her to move with him now that she can't feel her legs anymore.

"Do I look like a compassionate person to you, Zechs? Pity is easily the most destructive of the nonpharmaceutical narcotics; it is addictive, gives momentary pleasure and separates the victim from reality. If I'm doing that it's not because I pity you, but because I respect you. Self-pity is your worst enemy, not me."

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
"I am not the sort of person who engages in the weakness of self-pity," Zechs answered, coldly. Yet despite his words, he relaxed slightly - something which showed in his face. He believed Hakuba. Though he didn't understand why he'd stay, even if it was out of respect rather than pity. For now, however, he'd except the explanation.

"As you choose to stay, consider my things as yours, Detective. I realize there is little food here, as we -" Zechs faltered a moment, "- I tended to buy food as needed, or ... ate elsewhere."

The food at their home in Switzerland would probably end up spoiling. Zechs didn't care much.

"You may use my account to buy what you need. I will not require much food personally, so buy things to your preference."

He bowed to Hakuba again. "Once I have prepared for work, I will see you in eleven hours, Detective."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Better for you if you aren't." Hakuba replied, not missing the coldness on Zechs's voice, but ignoring it. Alize, again didn't trust him the first time. He could understand that, he was a man who always wanted proof after all.

"Thanks, Zechs. But I can use japanese money on Gaia too, if I need something I can pay for it too. And I don't want too oblige, you already did much letting me stay on your ho..apartment." Hakuba caught his tongue this time. He already noticed how Zechs didn't really saw the place as a home. It was like his rejection to call tyki by his name. Hakuba refused to call him Mikk , even in his mind. The Noah wouldn't apreciate it.

"Take care, Zechs."He murmured, friendly.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Zechs bowed yet again, realizing he had been cold and almost rude to Hakuba. He wished to make up for it. Politely, he said, "It is no problem for my own self at all, if you need to rely on my funds. I do not work for want of money; there is little else I would spend it on."

He turned to leave to shower and change for work. "You as well, Detective. May you find some sleep within your day."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"I will try, I promise." Hakuba replied, wishing Zechs a good day as he left the apartment. He went to the kitchen and stabbed one waffle with the fork. He didn't know how to help Zechs, the only one who could help him right now is the one who caused his sorrow on the first place. Hakuba sighed dramatically.

"Doyle..." Hakuba called the A.I. "While you're exporting to ZERO system, try to find as much information as you can containing the words Noah, Milennium Earl, Ark, Alen Waler and Cross Marian."

The computer whirred for a moment.

"It can took me a bit to analyze with information is truth and which is face, Saguru-niichan."
"Don't worry, we have at least eleven hours. If you can...look for Milliardo Peacecraft too."
"I will."
"Thanks, Doyle."
