No, it's just a device.

Akako gave me a magic clock for my birthday, it never runs off of energy. I made some change to it and I placed hat as Doyle's heart.

It was a stupid metaphor. You didn't make it obvious that 'heart' was a synonym for 'battery.' You could have meant anything by heart, and considering I dealt with a creepy scientist who tried to give a robot a heart once and that robot tried to kill me, I'm pretty sure it was a stupid metaphor.
