Well, we try to be optimistic about these things, but we're not really fooling anyone. You can't leave Torchwood, not really.

Well, I'm a little bit above the position of an actual butler, but still. Although it has its perks. I know everything there is to know about our organization, for one thing. But I digress.

Well, I was hired a few years ago, and no one else would take me. As it is, its the most fantastic job I could ever hope to have. But to leave it, I would need to forget everything I ever learned here, and the people I met. That's four years of my life I'd never get back. Besides, I love my job, and I could never leave Jack. Not without a fight.

Pretty much. I keep everything in its place, get everywhere where they need to go on time...practically everything at the moment. It's tiresome, but there are only three of us, and someone needs to do it.

If you like it then it's the best job for you. Forgetting would be hard. Who's Jack?

Why don't you hire more people? It seems a exciting job.

Ah. Jack would be the leader of Torchwood, my boss. We also, er, sort of have a...thing going on at the moment. A rather good thing, if you, ah, know what I mean.

We lost two team members a short while ago. They died. We were all rather close, too, so we're not exactly chomping at the bit to replace them quite yet. Plus, there's a lot more work than you'd think recruiting for a Top Secret organization.

I know what you mean, do not worry I will not judge. That makes it all a bit more complicated if you want to leave.

Recruiting? It's basically up to Jack finding people that he thinks will be suitable for the job, then he simply goes and asks if they want it or not. I think he's just not quite ready emotionally to replace Tosh and Owen yet.

If their death was so recently it's natural to feel that way. Maybe you all need s a vacations to rest an think.

You're right. Plus, it's Jack. He has an exceptional talent for making things extremely complicated as often as possible.

Honestly, they died a while ago. It's just not easy to replace friends, you know? Even if we really do need people to fill their job professionally.

No, it's not. But you know us Brits. Stiff upper lip, "keep calm and carry on", and all that crap they like to feed us. Though I suppose it's either that or hide in a hole for the rest of our lives, which is really too pathetic to even merit thought.

Hm, more like 21st Century standards in monogamy and relationships. I'm not sure exactly, but it's safe to say that when he comes from, devoting yourself to one person is rather rare. I wouldn't presume to make him change his ways for me, but it certainly makes me pause when people ask just what he is to me.

Well, I'm fairly easy-going about these things. It's just the fact that he refuses to put any sort of labels on anything at all that confuses me. But... I'm sure you don't want to hear me complaining about that.

I'm an archivist. I live to create order and categorize things. It's a wonder the man hasn't driven me mad. But. I'm not bisexual, I don't think. It's just him. It'll probably always be just him. And well... Jack would sleep with everything and anything--I guess that would make him omnisexual by today's standards.

Well, yeah. Anything. He likes to tell stories of all of his exploits. He says that there are some species of beings out there with these tentacles that--well, I think I'll leave it there. He tells it better anyway, having, well, experienced them.

They're handy! They were kind of like another sex organ, they were that sensitive. Really tactile species. You have to be careful what you do with them, though. Apparently they've got some taste functions as well.
