Ey, this is Hakuba. Where are you two?

The weevil that was left in autopsy yesterday is just bones now. No flesh, no organs..I don't know how it happened it was a normal corpse 15 minutes ago. As normal as a dead alien's corpse can be anyway.

I think that something come through the Rift, the computers gone crazy and Myfanwy is in hysterics. Remember me who had the great idea of keep a Pteranodon as a pet? Nevermind.

I don't know what is it yet, I just saw a shadow. I'm locking the Hub to be sure it won't get away.

"Well," Ianto said, with a shudder. He couldn't believe that he was actually suggesting this, but he just wants the screaming to stop. "I mean. All of the Vashta Nerada are in one place. All we'd have to do is take the flamethrower on them..." Jack would come back eventually. It would hurt like hell, but he'd understand. He might even be grateful for it. Still, it didn't make it any less of a terrible idea.

"..." Hakuba paused, eyes wide. Ianto from all the people was suggesting to burn his lover alive? Even if jack could survive that woudl hurt so much. "We..should..ask him."

Ianto's eyes watered suspiciously. Now was really not the time, so he fought down his emotions. "If you want to ask him... I'm not sure that he'll be able to answer, what with..." he trailed off. Jack's voice sounded like one continuous scream. Obviously, his special healing abilities were the only things keeping him alive. The Vashta Nerada were literally eating him alive, and Ianto wasn't sure he even wanted to think about how that looked, let alone see it. "If it'd make you feel better about it, though, then." He made a motion in the direction of the main Hub area where they'd left Jack.

Hakuba ran a hand through his hair. "If someone was going to do that to me, healing habitability or not, I woudl like to know..." He trailed off and bit his lip. More time they kept discussing this more he would suffer. "I will talk to him and I..will do it."

Not like he wanted, but he thought that Ianto doing that to Jack would hurt too much both men, taking in consideration their history together. "Can you find the fire thrower in the meantime?!

Ianto nodded, not really able to answer back. He was lucky that he was in this situation with a friend like Hakuba. A lot of other people wouldn't understand that this was probably their best option; they'd probably go after Ianto for being heartless and cruel. He knew that Akihiko, who'd worked with them before all this, would have been very against this, and would have insisted on another option. But there were no more options, and there was no more time. Ianto hurried up the stairs and out of the autopsy bay, across the Hub from Jack to where the armory was, looking for the flame-thrower becoming his goal to focus on as he tried hard not to pay attention to Jack's pain.

Hakuba wondered what kind of person he was when what he had to do was to find the best way to tell a friend they were going to burn him alive. One part of him told him that it was the only solution, the logical way and that jack will live again...the other was hearing the screaming and cringing. He tried to focus in the first one, even if it hurt, for his sanity.

"Jack?" He told him, quickly. "Jack we don't think that the container won't work because we can't manage to make them to leave you alone. There's no much other option but..." Hakuba doubted. it was painful to say this. "..burn them."

Jack just barely had enough presence of mind to acknowledge Hakuba's words. "Just do it!" he managed to answer. True, it would hurt, but it would stop the agony going on at that moment.

Ianto flinched at Jack's words, grabbing the flamethrower from where he'd had it stored since he'd last reorganized the armory, stopping a moment to check to see that his gun was loaded. He grabbed the flamethrower and hurried out of the armory, back to Hakuba. "Here," he said, coming up next to Hakuba. "I don't want to drag this out longer than we have to. Do you want to, or should I?"

Hakuba grabbed the flamethrower and shook his head. Better not to think at all, better him than Ianto. If he did that to Jack he wouldn't be able to think about anything else but that the rest of his life. "Look away." He says to him before to turn on the weapon into jack's direction. he wished he could stop listening.

Ianto sent one last pained look at Jack, put his hand on Hakuba's shoulder and squeezed in support, and then turned away. He would owe Hakuba a great debt after this, and he only hoped that he could make it up to him somehow.

Jack, for his part, didn't care a great deal for what they did to him, just so that they stayed safe, got rid of the Vashta Nerada, and stopped this horrible, horrible torture. He tried his best to brace himself, but he was pretty sure that the flames wouldn't hurt any more than what the Vashta Nerada were doing to him now.

((It's fine. You replied now, that's the important thing. I'm sorry that it takes so long to do RL's with me, and yet I insist on doing them all the time... ._.))

((thanks ♥ and do not apologize. :3 And I'm not sure how jack would look like now. Bones?))

...And it was done, finally. Hakuba won't stop after he was sure that all the creatures were dead and gone, turned into nothingness. It was not easy and he felt like throwing up. He didn't even dare to look at what was left of Jack now. When the sound of the flame-thrower falling to the floor made him jump the boy realized that he was shaking and that he could not make it stop.

Ianto turned to Hakuba at the sound of the flame-thrower dropping to the ground, and almost immediately noticed the shaking. "Come here," he said softly. He moved to put his arms around the boy, granting him a rare hug. Ianto didn't frequently dole out hugs, but when he did they were necessary. And he was a pretty good hugger as well. He chanced a glance at Jack, who, well, wasn't really recognizable as Jack anymore, and moved his hand to rub Hakuba's back. "You did what needed to be done. And Jack'll be back, you'll see. It's alright."

((Not exactly bones, but...he's one crispy critter at the moment. 8X ))

Hakuba usually didn't liked to get hugged, not specially after what happened to him and his shadow. But he had no admit that he needed that and appreciated Ianto's comfort. "W....what we do now?"

Ianto took in a shuddering breath, needing to hug Hakuba as much as Hakuba needed to be hugged. "I...I suppose he should be moved to somewhere less..." Ianto trailed off. "For when he wakes up. But. You've already done so much for me, for both of us. I." He swallowed, gripping Hakuba a little tighter at the thought of having to go near Jack's body at all right now. "You don't have to help me do this if it's too much for you."

((Yeah... ;_; Poor Jack. And Ianto and Hakuba. /hugs them all. Also, I must go and find what happened with Shadow Hakuba, because I missed it somehow, but it keeps coming up))

Hakuba shook his head. "No, no, it will be done faster if we both do it." He looked over his shoulder and after some seconds he reluctantly moved away. "Thanks."

The view of what was Jack now made his stomach turn, but Jack will get better. That was what they should keep in mind.

((so much trauma ;_; ah uhm..basically, the shadow slept with everyone and their mother. Hakuba don't like contact now.))

Ianto nodded at the thanks, moving to go get the backboard from the autopsy bay. He brought it over next to Jack. "Alright, this'll make it easier to transfer him over to the autopsy tables, we just need to...get him on the backboard... I've got gloves, so we don't have to touch him bare-handed..."

A stray tear leaked out of Ianto's eye, and he angrily wiped it away. Crying wouldn't help anything, but damn. This was the man that he loved, dead, and even if he would come back, there was always that little chance that maybe he wouldn't that scared Ianto half to death.

[action]

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hakuba made no comment about the tear, he was feeling like tearing up too but he could never cry, even less in front of people. He put on the gloves without a word and then turned to face what was left of Jack. It took him a few seconds to put himself together.

"I will get him." Hakuba moved next to the burned man, tried to get a good grip on him without throwing up his dinner.

Ianto took a deep breath. "No, I'll help. I should help in some of this." He moved around to Jack's shoulders, letting Hakuba take the legs, and the two of them were able to lift him enough to get him onto the backboard. Ianto tried very hard not to pay attention to what it felt like to lift Jack, nor the sound of doing so, but it was hard, and when they were done, he sat back with a noise not unlike a sob, although his eyes remained mostly dry. He'd try and save the crying for later, when it was just Jack. As it were, he swallowed back bile in his throat and fought the urge to be sick.

It was hard but it was finally done. he wasn't sure how long it would take to Jack to get back after something like this but he didn't dare to ask Ianto. he probably did not knew either. His stomach feel queasy and he was suddently really tired but he was ready to keep Ianto company if he decided to stay by Jack's side . "Ianto..."

Ianto helped Hakuba carry Jack to the autopsy bay in silence, before their job was done. At Hakuba's voicing of his name, Ianto hung his head. "You...don't have to stay if you don't want to. I don't want to keep you here, you could go home, get some rest... I could call you when he re--when he's ali--..." Ianto took in a deep shuddering breath. "When he's better," he said, finishing.

Truth be told, Ianto didn't want Hakuba to leave him here all alone. Ianto felt pretty emotionally vulnerable at the moment. If Hakuba left, he'd be the only living person left in the Hub, and even though he knew Jack would come back, Jack always came back, he couldn't exactly be comfortable in that fact. But still, he didn't want to tie the boy down, and if he wanted to leave, then he was more than free to leave.

Gently. Hakuba moved his hand to Ianto's back, reassuring. "I want to be here." He adventured a glance to the autopsy bay and then back t his co worker. "It might take a bit, we should...." 'Prepare something for dinner' was out of the question, eating was the last thing they had in mind at the moment. "..ehm..make sure we have enough coffee."

Ianto leaned back into Hakuba's hand on his back. He knew that it was lately hard for the boy to offer or accept physical gestures like this, so he really appreciated it. "Thank you," he said to Hakuba, really meaning it. "You're right too. It's going to be a while before he wakes up. I know I for one am not going to want to sleep tonight, so coffee sounds good right now." That, and coffee was familiar and comforting.

"Well, let's get to it then," Ianto said, not wanting to think about the situation at hand. He crossed the Hub to the coffee machine, Hakuba following close behind. Maybe...it wasn't the best of decisions to have made, however, Ianto reflected, as his hands shook while he measured out the coffee. Finally getting the right amount of beans in the machine, he put his hands flat on the counter.

Jack had died rather quickly in the end, but coming back from this one was going to be pretty horrible. Ianto blinked tears back from his eyes. He was not going to cry in front of Hakuba, he was not going to cry in front of Hakuba...
