Hakuba blinked, looking down at his small hands as they traveled trough the Ark. Perhaps he was hallucinating. He had been pulling several late nights recently and mayhap it was affecting him more than he realized. But no, he was in fact, a six years old kid, wearing now vintage children's clothes from the 19th century thanks to Tyki. he sighed miserably, glad that the other man was there to help him.

Tyki's grin widened and he folded his arms and leaned against the wall. "Good to see you again, Dark," he said, watching intently.

He'd never actually watched the two of them interact. At the wedding, he certainly hadn't had the chance, and then the next time, after Kaito had kidnapped Rufus, he'd been a bit...distracted.

"Hey Rufus," he said, his eyes beginning to glimmer with mischief. "Now here you are with your love. If you smile, I'll head off to my own apartment and leave you to him."

"Same," Dark said through gritted teeth. He supposed he should cut Tyki some slack, seeing as it looked like he hadn't done anything to Rufus (yet), but he still couldn't help but be a bit wary of him.

The love comment did throw him off for a moment, though. "What are you up to now?"

"Hakuba dared him to make me smile or laugh," Rufus said with a raised eyebrow, tugging on Dark's coat, "I'm almost tempted to let him try."

Rufus looked up at Dark with a mischievous expression, "He didn't want to play GAIA Monopoly either."

"I was willing, but Hakuba said it was boring, and it sounded terribly dull indeed," Tyki said wryly. Was that a smile? No, not quite.

"Instead we decided to play Truth or Dare." Tyki cocked his head at Dark. "Want to play?"

"Dared, eh?" Dark's hands went down Rufus' tiny arms and to his waist, returning the mischievous look. Even if they did play Monopoly, he and Rufus would win anyway - if only because Dark's favorite part of the game was stealing from the banker. "I think I could beat you in all of that."

With that, he curled his fingers into Rufus' sides, going right under the ribs for a round of tickling on the boy.

"Don't you dare, Dark Mousy." He hadn't built up his tolerance for tickling. He bit his lip, trying to hide his laughter, but Dark knew his body too much. Soon enough the little boy was laughing in Dark's arms, hands over his head.

"T-this i-s ..." Rufus laughed, clutching onto Dark.

Tyki blinked, then grinned widely. He watched with avid interest, making no move to join in tickling the boy, but obviously drinking in the laughter and the sight with every sense.

"That," he said when Rufus was laughed out. "Was the most marvelous thing I have seen in a long time. Thank you, Dark." He bowed, and then turned to head back down the stairs, grinning like a maniac. "Hakuba!" he called. "I'm done."

Dark finally gave him mercy and stopped the tickling, gathering up a red-faced Rufus in his arms. He would probably get payback for it later, but hearing that kind of carefree laughter was worth it. "Thanks, sweetheart."

Hakuba already heard the voices coming from upstairs and recognized them. A minutes ago he managed to do it to the second floor, even if the stairs where difficult, and he been hiding behind a plant. Being that short had his advantages after all.

Tyki walked in front of him without noticing him, and when he called Hakuba the small detective come closer to him and snickered.

"I don't think it counts, you didn't do it." he turned back and waved a small hand to the thief. "Hello, dark."

Rufus buried his face in Dark's neck, wrapping his legs around Dark's waist as Tyki headed down the stairs before he pushed off and looked Dark in the eye, obviously giving him that expression that spoke volumes about his mood.

Rufus was going to argue, but Dark had tickled him breathless.

Tyki paused when he heard Hakuba's voice and turned around, rolling his eyes. "I did too," he said stubbornly. "Dark wouldn't have done it, if it weren't for me, so I did it."

He smirked and folded his arms, raising an eyebrow. "I'd say that's good enough."

"People who laugh live longer, Rufus," Dark defended. He ruffled up his blond hair out of its neat smile, still grinning like a dork. "And you look cute like that."

Hakuba glared in response, but he let it go, smiling the next moment. "Fine, but just because now I discovered that he is ticklish. Who had to ask now? i think it's Rufus's turn. or Dark's"

Rufus pulled Dark's ear hard because of the statement. His cheeks red with indignation and still from the blood pumping through him. He swatted Dark's hand away, hand against the his arm.

"Let me down, I can walk myself. And I'm not playing this game."

"Ooow." Not that the tugging on his ear hurt, but he couldn't resist teasing Rufus like this. With a sigh, he carefully set Rufus back on his own two feet.

"Haven't you played Truth or Dare before?" Dark asked. "You'll make Hakuba feel lonely."

"it's quite obvious that he didn't." The detective responded, coming close to them and smiling at Dark. "Thanks for that." He moved his small hand distractedly towards the other blonde child, meaning the fact that he made Rufus's laugh. "I guess that it's your time, since he don't want to play...for now."

"That's just because he's a spoilsport." Dark went back to threading his fingers through Rufus' hair; it was just a habit of his. "Well, if I have to - truth."

"You're telling me?" Hakuba agreed and then thought for a moment. A shark's smile bloomed on his child features. "From all the people, why Rufus?"

"I second that," Tyki said cheerfully, tipping a wicked smirk at Rufus. "Since he is such a spoil sport."

Despite his words, and despite all of the arguments that they had had, and yet would have, there was a thread of affection in Tyki's tone. Despite himself, he still liked Rufus.

He just wished he wasn't such a prick half the time. Most of the time.

"I..." Dark wasn't really sure how to answer that. Was there supposed to be a specific reason? He couldn't say.

"Can you resist a face like this~?" he said, reaching down to pinch one of Rufus' cheeks.

Hakuba glared at him.

"That's not a real answer." Why thieves never could answer him straight?

Rufus' face once again scrunched up, by now it was just a reflex. He clutched Dark's arm and tried to wrench his way from him.

"Do you really need a reason to be with someone?" Rufus retorted, not that he really cared why Dark was with him or not. Just that he was there in the morning.

"I suppose you don't need a reason," Tyki said, leaning against the wall. "But usually there are things you like about that person, that makes them seem fairer in your eyes than others."

Dark gave a surprised look at Rufus, just for a moment, then quickly replaced it with a smile. He would tease him about that comment later.

"His fair skin and sapphire blue eyes, of course," he said melodramatically, poking at Rufus' cheeks playfully. "They stare into the depths of my soul so well."

"Fair enough." Hakuba clucked. "Just as long as you don't start hitting on me."
