Likewise, and I don't mind the unexpected comment. I lived in London until I was 17, then I traveled here to Japan. I visited Cardiff a few times, my Dad had friends there, a police.
A detective? Well...to an extent, yes. We're, well, special ops. Got a specific profile that they call us in on when they detect it before us. You're a detective, then?
Well, we try to be optimistic about these things, but we're not really fooling anyone. You can't leave Torchwood, not really.
Well, I'm a little bit above the position of an actual butler, but still. Although it has its perks. I know everything there is to know about our organization, for one thing. But I digress.
Well, I was hired a few years ago, and no one else would take me. As it is, its the most fantastic job I could ever hope to have. But to leave it, I would need to forget everything I ever learned here, and the people I met. That's four years of my life I'd never get back. Besides, I love my job, and I could never leave Jack. Not without a fight.
Pretty much. I keep everything in its place, get everywhere where they need to go on time...practically everything at the moment. It's tiresome, but there are only three of us, and someone needs to do it.
Ah. Jack would be the leader of Torchwood, my boss. We also, er, sort of have a...thing going on at the moment. A rather good thing, if you, ah, know what I mean.
We lost two team members a short while ago. They died. We were all rather close, too, so we're not exactly chomping at the bit to replace them quite yet. Plus, there's a lot more work than you'd think recruiting for a Top Secret organization.
Thank you, Hakuba. And yes, it certainly does complicate things.
Recruiting? It's basically up to Jack finding people that he thinks will be suitable for the job, then he simply goes and asks if they want it or not. I think he's just not quite ready emotionally to replace Tosh and Owen yet.
Well. He's a man from the future. He's been in this time for a while, but regardless, I don't think he'll ever work well with 21st Century relationship standards.
No, it's not. But you know us Brits. Stiff upper lip, "keep calm and carry on", and all that crap they like to feed us. Though I suppose it's either that or hide in a hole for the rest of our lives, which is really too pathetic to even merit thought.
((Thanks! ;3; I wasn't sure if our characters had ever interacted or not, which is why I commented on this thread. *can never keep track of these things*))
Hm, more like 21st Century standards in monogamy and relationships. I'm not sure exactly, but it's safe to say that when he comes from, devoting yourself to one person is rather rare. I wouldn't presume to make him change his ways for me, but it certainly makes me pause when people ask just what he is to me.
Hah! Too right you are, there.
((...wow, I didn't realize those were you as well. Good job balancing so many characters and remembering them all! I can barely keep track of my two sometimes. >>;;))
Well, I'm fairly easy-going about these things. It's just the fact that he refuses to put any sort of labels on anything at all that confuses me. But... I'm sure you don't want to hear me complaining about that.
((Wow! *bows down to you* I would never be able to keep so many and have them active.))
I would be confused too, I need some order even if I also like both genres...but also slept with people that aren't technically human so I'm not sure if i should be categorized as bisexual or something else.
((@^_^@ aww thanks!..I have no idea hoe I do it >>'))

Police in Cardiff? I know quite a few of those. My job requires quite a lot of contact with the police, as it were.
no subject
My father is the Superintendent General of the Metropolitan Police of Japan but he traveled to London a lot. Are you a detective too?
And excuse my manners, my name it's Saguru Hakuba.
no subject
Not at all. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir.
no subject
Just call me Hakuba. Can I ask for your name or you wan to keep it to yourself? I don't mind either way.
no subject
Sorry, no, who I am is no secret. I'm Ianto Jones, archivist and general support at Torchwood 3 in Cardiff. It's a pleasure to meet you, Hakuba.
no subject
Likewise Mr. Jones.
Torchwood 3?
no subject
Please, I'm a glorified butler, Mr. Jones is too formal. Call me Ianto.
no subject
Being a butler is as good as any other job. I love my housekeeper to no end
she's family, I call her by her name too. Ianto is then.no subject
Well, I'm a little bit above the position of an actual butler, but still. Although it has its perks. I know everything there is to know about our organization, for one thing. But I digress.

You're the man in the shadows? The one who knows how everything really works.

Pretty much. I keep everything in its place, get everywhere where they need to go on time...practically everything at the moment. It's tiresome, but there are only three of us, and someone needs to do it.

Why don't you hire more people? It seems a exciting job.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm curious know about how you do it.

If their death was so recently it's natural to feel that way. Maybe you all need s a vacations to rest an think.
[ooc:I'm in the middle of the second season of Toorchwood I still need to see how Tosh dies. I loved her d'aww ;;]
no subject
Honestly, they died a while ago. It's just not easy to replace friends, you know? Even if we really do need people to fill their job professionally.
((You're watching Torchwood? That's fabulous! I hope I'm living up to the expectation of the characters--I really love playing Jack and Ianto. :3))
no subject
I knwo, I'm familiar with that too. It's never easy.
((yuuuuus~I love it!You are, you are :>))

I do now, trust me. Too well. But that's also a stereotype....we can be worse.
((oo:Jack talked to one of my old chars, Nancy Tremaine, and Ianto talked to Prussia :D))
no subject
Hah! Too right you are, there.
((...wow, I didn't realize those were you as well. Good job balancing so many characters and remembering them all! I can barely keep track of my two sometimes. >>;;))
