Haibara's b-day it's today and I organized a small private party for her at home. Nothing too fancy because she doesn't enjoy those kind of parties, but I'm sure that she would like to you see all.

Ey, I'm completly innocent. Totally.

I think you could stand to broaden your horizons a bit. In fact, the mystery genre has crossed over with horror and even science fiction!
no subject
When did that happened and why no one told me about before?

You were too busy reading "The Hound of the Baskervilles" to notice, I suppose. You should read "The Mountains of Mourning" by Lois McMaster Bujold. It's a science fiction whodunnit!

Oh, silly me. I will do that.

I gave a copy to Ai-kun, you can borrow it from her.
...It feels good, being able to talk and joke around as we did before.

I will ask her.
Yes, it does.

I'm just not used to have a partner, I always worked alone.

Having a partner woudl be an interesting change.

It's important to have a partner to watch your back in dangerous situations. When it comes to the police force, the number one rule is: "Never leave your partner behind." I suppose that's the one disadvantage to being a private investigator... we usually work alone.

It's a bit strange for me.

There are just as many examples of private investigators with partners as there are those without. For example, Sherlock Holmes had Dr. Watson, Eddie Valient had his brother, and Detective Stabler had Benson (who was a woman, by the way). Even my parents worked together to solve cases. My father used to say that he could think of no one better to have for a partner than his own wife.

Your parents are probably the only not fictional people in those examples. But we can give it another try .

You're right. Perhaps we can start a new trend, then? Though Conan-kun and Hattori-san make a pretty good team, wouldn't you say?

Conan-kun it's a bit too young, don't you agree?

Conan-kun, maybe, but not Kudo-san, wouldn't you agree?
