"There's a lot of things, but words can't describe it it well enough. It's not only about her looks, even if If She's physically attractive to me. Her personality did draw me to her. One of the things I like the most is that she's strong. I mean...I spend most of my life feeling like I need to help and be strong for others, but she's not expecting me to be like that. I know that I can be weak in front of her and she will be there for me, even if she will probably kick my ass out of mourning instead of pity me. I hate it when people pity me."

Hakuba paused, as several stray thoughts connected in his head. At Tykis' question, he began to smile again and spoke in a soft voice. "You told me some time ago that there was an special person on your life, more exactly the same afternoon that you showed me your powers as Noah. That person is Zechs, right?"

Even if that was a game, he tried to be subtle. Because asking on the open 'Are you sleeping with him?' Sounded crude and disrespectful. And even if the detective suspected that Rufus already knew about them, he didn't wanted him to heard it.

Tyki's eyebrows rose. He wasn't surprised at all that Hakuba had worked it out, and in retrospect, he should have been expecting Hakuba to take the opportunity to ask about it, now that they were alone in a space that couldn't be hacked.

"Yes," he said with a soft smile. "That person is Zechs. And Rufus already knows, so don't be concerned with discussing it in front of him."

He cocked his head. "I assume you're taking Truth as well, so how did you know?"

"It's not like he keeps it private," Rufus quipped finally. He had an extremely bored expression on his young features. He looked much older than he was in moments like these, but it was just a passing trait.

Rufus frowned, they weren't playing monopoly? Perhaps it was for the best. There were some handwritten instructions for the other version that they played in the box. Then again, Rufus rarely paid attention to the rules.

"I should make it clear that I am not going to do anything regarding this idiotic game. I'm sure you both can figure out why."

Tyki turned his head and looked at Rufus mildly. "I keep it private," he said tartly. "I don't flirt with him any more than I do with everyone else outside of lock. You only know for other reasons, but so far as I know no one dangerous has guessed, and that is the important thing."

"And what's so idiotic about the game, Rufus?" He smiled wickedly. "If you don't play, then you can be sure that Hakuba and I will only choose Dare from now on, and that you will be the subject of most of them."

Hakuba snorted amused, Tyki and Rufus were really something to see. He tilted his head a bit as he replied the older man.

"I knew about you two because you told me, before that I was just suspecting. It was all about details, and amount of small things growing into big ones. When Zechs was hacked by Preventers all their private entries were unlocked. You took care of him when he was mentally regressed, even if you don't flirt with him any more than you do with everyone else, you really don't like kids and that was strange. I was all sure about it but I had a sensation. Call it detective's six sense. I will keep my mouth shut, though.” He promised. His friendship with both Tyki and Zechs was not the most stable and the last thing he cared to do was alienate either of them.

Hakuba caught Rufus’s stubborn expression and had compassion of him. "Come on, it's not that bad. I will give my turn so you can ask now.” He smiled, waiting for a snark reply.

Rufus gave Tyki a hard, even stare. "Didn't I just say that I wasn't going to play this game?"

He packed up the game again, making sure that everything was in its place before gingerly closing the box and carrying it back upstairs. The stairs were another sort of challenge for Rufus. There were a lot bigger than when he built the apartment, and he cursed himself for having a two-floor condo.

Tyki rolled his eyes. "You're no fun at all, Rufus!" he called back after the boy. "One of these days you'll learn to lighten up a little, and the world will end."

He turned back to Hakuba and grinned. "I think it's my turn, then, since Rufus is being a stick in the mud as usual," he said, chuckling. "So as promised, I will choose Dare."

The detective watched the other blonde child dissapear, a frown on his own small face.

"I dare you to make him smile. Or laugh, if you can do it."

Tyki considered that, then frowned at Hakuba. "You don't make this easy, do you," he said reproachfully.

He rose to his feet and headed upstairs in search of Rufus.

"You was the one who chose the 'True or Dare', my 'Quid Pro Quo' game don't have that things." Hakuba screamed at him to make himself heard. He didn't wanted to be bad them, au contraire, he wanted Rufus to feel a bit better with the current situation. But ey, he could have fun in the process too.

Rufus was in his bedroom, standing on a chair in their walk-in closet trying to put the game away. He almost had it, but he had to stand on his tip-toes to successfully put it away neatly. Hakuba hadn't been quiet about his dare, and he knew that Tyki was probably on his way up to try and to make him laugh. Which, everyone knew was impossible. Even from a young age, Rufus didn't have that sort of capacity. Though, it would be very interesting to see Tyki try.

He hopped off the stool and hid it in the bathroom, then looked at the state of the bedroom. Then rushed out of it before he could let Tyki into his most private sanctums. He closed the doors behind him and met Tyki at the top of the stairs.

"Did you get lost?" he asked.

Tyki just spotted Rufus dart out of the bedroom as he came up the stairs, and he smiled as Rufus met him on the stairs. "Not at all. I was just looking for the bathroom," he said glibly. "Were you on your way back down to join us?"

Dark knew that Rufus probably wouldn't too happy if he saw him in his current state, but he probably already knew that the outcome was inevitable no matter how hard he tried. Dark materialized right behind Rufus, folding in his wings so that they wouldn't hit the shelves.

"Hey~" he greeted, bending down to get a closer look at Rufus' young face, and grinned.

Rufus looked up at Dark's face. Rufus moved closer to him instinctively, hands on easier side of his face.

"You're late." Rufus ordered, trying to be as grown up as possible around Dark. Though he spent the morning cuddled up against him.

Tyki's grin widened and he folded his arms and leaned against the wall. "Good to see you again, Dark," he said, watching intently.

He'd never actually watched the two of them interact. At the wedding, he certainly hadn't had the chance, and then the next time, after Kaito had kidnapped Rufus, he'd been a bit...distracted.

"Hey Rufus," he said, his eyes beginning to glimmer with mischief. "Now here you are with your love. If you smile, I'll head off to my own apartment and leave you to him."

"Same," Dark said through gritted teeth. He supposed he should cut Tyki some slack, seeing as it looked like he hadn't done anything to Rufus (yet), but he still couldn't help but be a bit wary of him.

The love comment did throw him off for a moment, though. "What are you up to now?"

"Hakuba dared him to make me smile or laugh," Rufus said with a raised eyebrow, tugging on Dark's coat, "I'm almost tempted to let him try."

Rufus looked up at Dark with a mischievous expression, "He didn't want to play GAIA Monopoly either."

"I was willing, but Hakuba said it was boring, and it sounded terribly dull indeed," Tyki said wryly. Was that a smile? No, not quite.

"Instead we decided to play Truth or Dare." Tyki cocked his head at Dark. "Want to play?"

"Dared, eh?" Dark's hands went down Rufus' tiny arms and to his waist, returning the mischievous look. Even if they did play Monopoly, he and Rufus would win anyway - if only because Dark's favorite part of the game was stealing from the banker. "I think I could beat you in all of that."

With that, he curled his fingers into Rufus' sides, going right under the ribs for a round of tickling on the boy.

"Don't you dare, Dark Mousy." He hadn't built up his tolerance for tickling. He bit his lip, trying to hide his laughter, but Dark knew his body too much. Soon enough the little boy was laughing in Dark's arms, hands over his head.

"T-this i-s ..." Rufus laughed, clutching onto Dark.

Tyki blinked, then grinned widely. He watched with avid interest, making no move to join in tickling the boy, but obviously drinking in the laughter and the sight with every sense.

"That," he said when Rufus was laughed out. "Was the most marvelous thing I have seen in a long time. Thank you, Dark." He bowed, and then turned to head back down the stairs, grinning like a maniac. "Hakuba!" he called. "I'm done."

Dark finally gave him mercy and stopped the tickling, gathering up a red-faced Rufus in his arms. He would probably get payback for it later, but hearing that kind of carefree laughter was worth it. "Thanks, sweetheart."

Hakuba already heard the voices coming from upstairs and recognized them. A minutes ago he managed to do it to the second floor, even if the stairs where difficult, and he been hiding behind a plant. Being that short had his advantages after all.

Tyki walked in front of him without noticing him, and when he called Hakuba the small detective come closer to him and snickered.

"I don't think it counts, you didn't do it." he turned back and waved a small hand to the thief. "Hello, dark."

Rufus buried his face in Dark's neck, wrapping his legs around Dark's waist as Tyki headed down the stairs before he pushed off and looked Dark in the eye, obviously giving him that expression that spoke volumes about his mood.

Rufus was going to argue, but Dark had tickled him breathless.

Tyki paused when he heard Hakuba's voice and turned around, rolling his eyes. "I did too," he said stubbornly. "Dark wouldn't have done it, if it weren't for me, so I did it."

He smirked and folded his arms, raising an eyebrow. "I'd say that's good enough."
